China Lake is located in the Mojave
Desert and at the foot of the Sierra Nevada Mountains,
150 miles from Los Angeles, CA. This base is home to the
Naval Weapons Test Squadron, Naval Air Warfare Center
Weapons Division, and the Naval Air Weapons Station.
There are over 900 active duty members along with over
6,000 dependents, civilians and reservists aboard base.
