Under the Base Realignment and Closure Commission
recommendations of 2005, McGuire Air Force Base, Fort Dix, and the Naval
Air Engineering Station Lakehurst formed a joint operation for base
operations under Air Force lead. McGuire Air Force Base is now part of
Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst. McGuire is located 15 miles southeast of Trenton,
NJ and is home to the 21st Air Force, Air Mobility
Warfare Center, 305th Air Mobility Wing and 621st Air
Mobility Operations Group. McGuire supports over
18,000 active duty, guard and reserve, family members and civilian
personnel.
